NSMQ 2025: RECORD 174 SCHOOLS SET FOR FIERCE BATTLE OF BRAINS

A record-breaking 174 senior high schools are gearing up for the 2025 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), promising the fiercest academic showdown in the competition’s history.

The championship, officially launching on October 2, will feature an unmatched blend of seasoned powerhouses, surprise qualifiers, and ambitious debutants, all eyeing the coveted trophy that crowns Ghana’s ultimate battle of brains.

This year’s line-up includes 27 seeded schools rewarded for their stellar 2024 performance, 106 regional qualifier winners, 32 top runners-up, and for the first time, nine private schools.

Adding extra spice to the contest are 15 debutant schools, including Prampram SHS, Our Lady of Lourdes Girls’ SHS, Ngleshie Amanfro SHS, Attafuah SHTS, Akro SHTS, Presby SHS Adeiso, Wovenu SHTS, Mankessim SHTS, and Agona SHTS. Their entry signals the growing reach of the NSMQ and the rise of fresh talent across all 16 regions of Ghana.

From defending champions seeking to protect their legacy to first-timers dreaming of a historic upset, NSMQ 2025 is already shaping up as one of the most competitive and exciting editions ever.

For over two decades, the NSMQ has gone beyond academics, it has united Ghanaians in celebration of wit, speed, and intellectual brilliance, stirring unmatched school pride and nationwide excitement.
