Former Ghana international and ex-head coach of Eleven Wonders, Nii Odartey Lamptey, has strongly criticised the club’s leadership for what he describes as unacceptable and unprofessional treatment of players.

His outburst follows growing concerns surrounding the newly promoted Ghana Premier League side, especially after former coach J.E. Sarpong revealed that players had gone without proper meals and were owed several months’ salaries.

Lamptey, who took charge of the team after their return to the top flight, eventually resigned after a frustrating run of nine matches without a win in the 2025/26 season. Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, he said the core of the team’s struggles stemmed from poor management at the top.

According to him, it was shocking that individuals holding high-profile national positions were presiding over such neglect.

“I just hope things will change. How do you have people who are a Member of Parliament and another who is on the Council of State, yet players are being treated like this?” he lamented.

Lamptey added that running a football team required basic organisational discipline, something he believes the club’s owners have failed to demonstrate.

“If you cannot manage 30 players, then I’m sorry. I don’t even consider myself educated, yet I manage over 60 players at my academy. So if I can do that, how much more people in such powerful positions?”

With only three points from eleven matches, Eleven Wonders currently sit bottom of the league table. The club faces another tough test as they prepare to meet Dreams FC in their Matchday 12 encounter at the University of Ghana Stadium.
