Former Presidential Staffer, P.V. Juantoah has weighed in on the ongoing dispute over the late Daddy Lumba’s funeral arrangements, insisting that Odo Broni has equal rights alongside Akosua Serwaa.

Speaking on Angel FM Kumasi, he challenged that the Lumba family can prevent Akosua Serwaa and her legal team from organising another funeral this year. It is the family that organises funerals for deceased relations” he said

He insisted that Akosua Serwaa failed to play her role as a legal wife and is facing the consequences of her actions.

“As much as Akosua Serwaa is a legal wife, it comes with legal responsibilities. If she slipped on her responsibilities, she cannot blame anyone else,” Juantoah stated.

He argued that Akosua Serwaa should have addressed the situation legally much earlier, especially after learning that Odo Broni had borne several children with her husband.

“She should have reported the matter to the court long before Lumba passed away,” he said.

Juantoah emphasized that legal wives cannot claim exclusive control over the new funeral and should even stop the planning.

“Akosua Serwaa and her legal team should stop what they are doing because nothing will come out of it. Both women have equal rights,” he said.

According to Juantoah, Ghanaian law grants the family the primary authority to organize a man’s funeral. “Under our laws, it is the family that handles the funeral, so they can legally prevent Akosua Serwaa and the legal wife’s team from organizing it.

They can even go to court to enforce this. Akosua Serwaa and her team of legal wives have no legal grounds to organise the funeral,” he explained.
