A medical doctor, Dr. Gabriel Asumeng, has donated educational materials valued at over GH¢20,000 to support the debating club of Ola Girls’ Senior High School at Kenyasi No. 2 in the Ahafo Region.
The donation, which includes a projector, smart television, computer, projector screen, internet router, whiteboard, and several reading materials, is designed to enhance the learning experience and improve students’ academic performance in competitions.
Speaking during the presentation, Dr. Asumeng said he was motivated to make the donation after learning about the club’s challenges.
“Ola Girls’ SHS is one of the best schools in the country, so hearing that the debating club lacked learning materials was quite worrying. I decided to step in and support them so they can perform better,” he explained.
The Patron of the Debating Club and Head of the Languages Department, Prosper Mensah Aforvor, expressed profound appreciation for the gesture. He noted that the new materials will significantly boost the club’s academic work and improve students’ communication and critical thinking skills.
“Over the years, the club has not performed as expected due to a lack of learning materials. This donation will go a long way to transform our preparations and boost our confidence in competitions,” he said.
The school’s management also commended Dr. Asumeng for his dedication to education and urged other alumni and professionals to emulate his example by contributing to the school’s academic development.
