The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has scheduled Monday, November 24, 2025, for former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and seven other high-profile individuals to be arraigned on a total of 78 charges involving corruption, procurement breaches, and related offences.
In an official update posted on its social media platforms, the OSP confirmed that it will also pursue the necessary court orders to serve charge sheets on suspects who are currently outside Ghana’s jurisdiction.
The charges stem from an extensive investigation into alleged irregularities involving Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML), now known as Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd, and senior officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
The individuals set to appear in court alongside the former minister include:
- Ernest Darko Akore, 67 – former Chief of Staff to the Finance Minister
- Emmanuel Kofi Nti, 66 – former Commissioner-General, GRA
- Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, 64 – former Commissioner-General, GRA
- Isaac Crentsil, 63 – former Commissioner, Customs Division
- Kwadwo Damoah, 65 – former Commissioner, Customs Division
- Evans Adusei, 62 – CEO of SML
- Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd – formerly Strategic Mobilisation Limited
According to the prosecution, the accused persons allegedly participated in a coordinated and systematic “criminal enterprise” that operated between 2017 and 2024.
Investigators claim the group manipulated procurement procedures, unlawfully awarded contracts, and facilitated the diversion of more than GHS 1.4 billion for services that were never delivered.
The high-stakes case is expected to draw national attention when proceedings begin on Monday, marking one of the most significant corruption prosecutions in recent years under the OSP’s mandate.
