The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced a significant reduction in Ghana’s passport application fee, lowering it from GH₵500 to GH₵350, a 30% decrease.

The new fee structure will take effect on Thursday, November 13, 2025, and applies to all new passport applications. Renewals of existing passports will also benefit from the reduced charges.

The ministry said the decision is part of the government’s efforts to make essential services more affordable and improve accessibility for Ghanaians seeking travel documents.

This move is expected to ease the financial burden on applicants and encourage more citizens to obtain passports in line with national and international travel requirements.
