Police have taken over the Kasoa Ofaakor Chief’s Palace following an alleged attempt to unlawfully install a new chief for the Kwashie Abbey community. Two suspects have been arrested, and a pump-action gun was recovered at the scene.

Asafo Supi of Odupong Ofaakor, Asafo Supi Onipa Nka, told Adom News that the suspects, believed to be land guards, had secretly entered the palace to carry out the illegal installation before security forces intervened.

“They came to install someone as chief without approval. We stopped them and handed two over to the police,” he said, urging the Inspector-General of Police and the Minister for the Interior to act swiftly to prevent escalation.

Authorities have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and called on residents to remain calm as peace and order are restored in Kasoa Ofaakor.
