Ghana’s Rose Yeboah has etched her name into the nation’s sporting history by becoming the first Ghanaian athlete to qualify for the women’s high jump final at the World Athletics Championships.

The 23-year-old soared over 1.92 metres during the qualification round, securing her spot among the world’s best in a fiercely contested event. Her leap not only marked a personal achievement but also a milestone for Ghanaian athletics, which has rarely featured in field events at the global stage.

Yeboah, who has been steadily rising in international competitions, expressed excitement after her record-breaking performance, describing it as a dream come true. “Representing Ghana at this level and making it to the final means a lot to me. It shows that with hard work, anything is possible,” she said.

Sports analysts have praised Yeboah’s achievement, noting that it opens a new chapter for Ghana in athletics and could inspire more young athletes, especially women, to take up field events.

The final is set to take place later this week, and the nation’s hopes will be pinned on Yeboah as she looks to push the boundaries even further.
