Sammi Awuku Hails Bawumia as a Genuine Leader Unchanged by Politics

The Member of Parliament for Akuapem North, Sammi Awuku, has praised NPP flagbearer hopeful Dr MahamuduBawumia, describing him as a leader whose character has remained consistent despite years in frontline politics.

Awuku said unlike some politicians who only display warmth or approachability when courting support, Dr Bawumia has always maintained the same friendly and down-to-earth personality.

“For some people, when they want positions, that is when they begin showing friendliness. But with Dr Bawumia, what you see is what you get,” Awuku remarked. “He does not fake his character. He is genuine.”

Having worked closely with Dr Bawumia over the years, the Akuapem North MP said he has witnessed firsthand the former Vice President’s unwavering temperament, both publicly and privately.

Awuku also weighed in on recent internal commentary within the NPP, suggesting that if a two-term Vice President is being branded a “stranger,” then party figures with far less involvement would face even harsher judgment.

He shared these views on Friday when Dr MahamuduBawumia toured the Akuapem North constituency as part of his ongoing campaign in the Eastern Region.
