The much-anticipated ShattaFest 2025 x Shattabration: The King Calls lived up to every bit of the hype, transforming the Black Star Square into a sea of white, music, and unrestrained celebration on Saturday night.

Thousands of fans thronged the venue, dressed in the event’s all-white code, to mark Shatta Wale’s birthday in grand style. The concert, which began around 4:00 p.m. and stretched late into the night, saw electrifying performances from some of Ghana’s biggest names in music, and the atmosphere was nothing short of magical.

The night’s headline act, Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., commanded the stage with unmatched charisma, delivering back-to-back hits from Dancehall King to My Level and Taking Over. The crowd sang along word for word, their voices merging with the beats that echoed across Independence Square.

Supporting acts such as Sarkodie, Wendy Shay, Medikal, Tinny, JZyNo, Jupitar, and Empress Gifty brought their A-game, lighting up the stage with energetic and unforgettable sets. Rising talents including Kwame Yogot, Captan, Rashid Metal, Togyal Renner, Mandem Yopic, and Chuku Lion also thrilled fans with spirited performances that kept the momentum soaring all night.

Hosted by Adom TV’s Sister Sandy, the show flowed seamlessly between performances, crowd interactions, and special birthday tributes to Shatta Wale. The presence of Nigerian influencers Pellet and Big Jiggy added a cross-border flair to the celebration, underscoring Shatta Wale’s growing influence across Africa.

The event, powered by MoMo Fest (Mobile Money Ghana Limited) with support from Shaxi and Charterhouse, was more than a concert, it was a cultural phenomenon. From the vibrant lights and pyrotechnics to the unity and energy of the fans, ShattaFest 2025 reaffirmed Shatta Wale’s reputation as one of Ghana’s greatest music icons.

The dancehall king used the occasion not only to thank his loyal fans for their years of unwavering support but also to celebrate Ghanaian music’s global growth. His recent submission of his single Street Crown for Grammy consideration was a recurring theme of pride among fans, who chanted “Grammy Boy” throughout his set.

As the night drew to a close, fireworks lit up the Accra skyline, symbolizing both a birthday celebration and the enduring spirit of Shatta Movement.
