The family of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo, founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission, has paid a courtesy visit to the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, to officially inform him of the passing of the renowned industrialist and spiritual leader.

The delegation met the Speaker at Parliament House on Monday to also brief him on plans for Apostle Safo’s 40-day memorial observance following his death on September 11, 2025, at age 77.

Mr. Bagbin, while extending Parliament’s condolences, described Apostle Safo as a visionary pioneer who merged spirituality, science, and innovation to advance Ghana’s development. He said Apostle Safo’s ingenuity and faith-driven leadership left a remarkable imprint on the nation’s technological and industrial landscape.

“Apostle Safo was more than a preacher. He was a national treasure whose creativity and determination reflected the potential of the Ghanaian spirit,” the Speaker said.

He encouraged the family and members of Kristo Asafo to remain united and to carry forward the late Apostle’s ideals of peace, innovation, and self-reliance.

Apostle Kwadwo Safo, affectionately known as the “Star of Africa,” was celebrated for his groundbreaking work in automobile engineering, agriculture, and science education. He founded the Kantanka Group of Companies, including Kantanka Automobile, which designs and assembles vehicles such as the Omama SUV and Onantefo pickup, crafted for African terrains.

Through his ministry and enterprises, Apostle Safo championed the belief that Africans could create and innovate using their own resources, a philosophy that continues to inspire entrepreneurs, engineers, and believers across Ghana and beyond.
