The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) hasmarked its 60th anniversary with the 2025 edition of the SSNITPosium, reaffirming its dedication to safeguarding income security for all Ghanaian workers.
Speaking at the event, Director-General of SSNIT, Kwesi Afreh Biney, emphasized that every worker deserves financial stability during retirement, a goal the Trust continues to pursue through innovation and reform.
He announced a new accessibility initiative dubbed “SSNIT Inside Your Banking Hall,” which will integrate SSNIT services into 27 banks across the country by the end of the year, with an additional 100 banking hall touchpoints to follow in 2026.
“This move brings our services closer to the people,” he said. “We are embracing technology not only to make things easier but to ensure the sustainability and security of our pension system.”
The symposium brought together government officials, labour representatives, and private sector players to reflect on six decades of social protection progress and explore the future of Ghana’s pension system.
