The stakeholder committee set up to address concerns surrounding MultiChoice Ghana’s DStv services is expected to present its final report on September 29, 2025.
The committee, which includes representatives from the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation, the National Communications Authority (NCA), consumer protection groups, and MultiChoice Ghana, was tasked with reviewing subscription fees, service quality, and consumer complaints.
Officials say the report will contain recommendations aimed at ensuring fairness in pricing, improving customer service, and safeguarding consumer rights in Ghana’s pay-TV market.
The committee’s work follows public outcry earlier this year over what many subscribers described as frequent fee hikes and unfair billing practices. Parliament subsequently directed the Communications Ministry to intervene, leading to the establishment of the multi-stakeholder body.
The Ministry has assured the public that the government will act on the findings of the report to address long-standing concerns about affordability and transparency in the subscription television sector.
