In a recent episode of The Pivot Podcast, veteran entertainer and talk show host Steve Harvey revealed that in his house, once someone is an ex of his daughter Lori, they are his ex too.
Harvey explained that after Lori ends a relationship, he purposely distances himself from her former partner, for example, avoiding social contact or acknowledgement. “If you an ex, your ass is my ex, too,” he said, adding jokingly, “The rule in our house is any boy that’s an ex, he’s now my ex too.”
He also admitted that his daughter’s life being in the public eye makes everything more delicate. He described how even simple interactions (like shaking hands with her ex at a game) are now avoided, citing the need to set boundaries.
