Tragedy at Kasoa Market: Mason Buried in Building Collapse

A mason is fighting for his life after a building unexpectedly collapsed at Kasoa New Market in the Awutu Senya East Municipality.

The dramatic incident sent traders and shoppers fleeing as debris rained down across the busy market. Emergency teams, including the Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service, NADMO, and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), rushed to the scene to carry out rescue operations.

Eyewitnesses said the collapse occurred without warning, leaving many in shock. Authorities are investigating the cause of the disaster while working urgently to free the trapped mason.

Officials have advised residents and traders to avoid the area until the site is secured.
