The 29th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards came alive on Friday, November 8, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, the first time the prestigious ceremony has been hosted outside Accra.
The night’s highest honour went to Godwin Asedibe of TV3, who was crowned 2024 Journalist of the Year for his powerful documentary “Dreams in Shambles.”

This year’s awards attracted 321 entries, reflecting growing competition and creativity in Ghana’s media landscape. Dignitaries in attendance included President John Dramani Mahama, Acting Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, and Alex Apau Dadey, Executive Chairman of KGL Group.
