A serious road crash on the Tsito–Anyirawase stretch has left two motorbike riders fighting for their lives after their bike collided head-on with a tipper truck on Friday.
Residents who witnessed the incident said the motorbike suddenly drifted into the lane of the approaching truck, giving the driver little time to react before the violent impact. The collision threw both riders several metres onto the asphalt, causing severe injuries.
“It happened in a split second. The victims were lying motionless, and people started shouting for help,” an eyewitness recounted, describing the scene as tense and frantic as bystanders scrambled to assist.
The injured were rushed to the Ho Teaching Hospital, where emergency teams worked to stabilise their conditions. Medical officials disclosed that the pair sustained multiple fractures and deep injuries associated with high-speed crashes.
Officers from the Ho West District Police Command arrived at the scene shortly after the accident, diverting traffic and securing the damaged motorbike as part of their preliminary investigation.
“We’re taking statements from witnesses and examining the vehicles to understand how the crash occurred,” a police officer confirmed.
Residents say the Tsito–Anyirawase road has become increasingly dangerous due to speeding and reckless overtaking, and they are calling on authorities to intensify road safety enforcement along the corridor.
