The National Chairman of the United Party (UP), Alhaji Abubakar Saddique Boniface, has criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for what he describes as a lack of transparency and tolerance in handling internal matters.

Speaking in a recent media interview, Alhaji Boniface used a striking metaphor to question the NPP’s approach to resolving disagreements within its ranks.

“As a mother, if your son or child urinates on your leg, do you use a knife to cut that part off?” he asked, suggesting that the NPP should show maturity and forgiveness rather than resort to hostility against members who express dissenting views.

He argued that the NPP’s internal divisions and lack of openness have driven several capable individuals to seek alternative political platforms, including the United Party, which he now chairs.

“There wasn’t transparency in the party. Decisions were taken without proper consultation, and the grassroots felt abandoned,” Alhaji Boniface lamented.

The United Party chairman emphasized that his new political home is committed to inclusiveness, dialogue, and genuine service to the Ghanaian people. He added that politics should not be about bitterness or exclusion but about collective progress and accountability.
