Former parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Vincent Asare Bediako,  has cautioned members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) against making inflammatory statements should ongoing court rulings go against them.

Addressing the matter in an interview, Mr. Bediako stressed the importance of respecting judicial processes and allowing the law to take its course.

Emphasizing his party’s stance on justice, he stated, “We believe in fair hearing.”

He referenced the ongoing legal battles involving Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Wontomi, noting that due process is already underway.

Highlighting the strain of prolonged litigation, he remarked, “Wontomi is even tired already with his court cases which are ongoing. The laws are working.”

Bediako questioned what further actions critics expect, insisting that the judiciary is functioning as mandated under Ghana’s legal framework.

Reaffirming confidence in the courts, he said, “All cases in the court will be done with, and they will be ruled according to the laws of the country, which will be fair. Anybody found guilty will be duly dealt with.”

He also addressed concerns from NPP supporters who claim that the courts are delaying proceedings.

Responding to such claims, Mr. Bediako stated, “All the noise that the NPP is making that the court is keeping so long on the cases is because they are following due processes.”

Issuing a firm warning, he concluded, “If eventually all the cases are tried and anyone is found guilty, they will be duly dealt with, and no NPP person should even try to make any further statements.”
