Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, has firmly defended the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government’s fiscal management, addressing concerns about revenue gaps and expenditure.

In a recent interview on Channel One TV’s Face to Face, Kwakye Ofosu responded to critics, particularly from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who have accused the NDC of underspending. He emphasized that the government remains fiscally prudent, carefully aligning spending with available resources.

“It’s not accurate to say we don’t spend,” Kwakye Ofosu asserted. “We are spending, but we are doing so responsibly.” He pointed out that the Finance Minister’s budget acknowledged revenue shortfalls and made corresponding cuts in expenditure, staying within the set limits.

In contrast, Kwakye Ofosu highlighted that the previous NPP administration, when faced with revenue drops, often increased spending, leading to fiscal imbalances.

In essence, Kwakye Ofosu’s remarks aim to reassure the public that the NDC government is committed to fiscal discipline, even amid economic challenges.
