In a renewed push to ensure every household in the Oti Region enjoys clean water and improved sanitation, World Vision Ghana’s Southern Regional Office has entered into a partnership with the Oti Regional Coordinating Council (ORCC) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed this week in Dambai.

The five-year agreement aims to achieve universal WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) coverage in three districts, Krachi West Municipality, Krachi Nchumuru District, and Kadjebi Akan District, where access to safe water and sanitation remains a major developmental challenge.

At the signing ceremony, Rev. Harry Nii, Regional Coordinating Director of the ORCC, lauded World Vision for what he called a “timely and lifesaving intervention.” He reaffirmed the council’s full support for the project and called on District Chief Executives to monitor progress and ensure accountability.

“The ORCC has greatly benefited from World Vision’s partnership over the years,” he said. “We are committed to sustaining this collaboration to bring lasting relief to our people.”

Irvine Aboagye, Southern Regional Operations Manager for World Vision, described the partnership as a continuation of the organization’s long-standing commitment to improving lives through water access, hygiene education, and infrastructure development.

“This initiative will not only provide clean water but also enhance sanitation standards and public health outcomes in these communities,” he explained.

Robel Wamisho, Associate WASH Director of World Vision, called for transparency and teamwork throughout the implementation process. He pledged that the organization would remain open to feedback and innovative ideas from local stakeholders to strengthen project delivery.

The MOU outlines detailed plans for water system construction, hygiene campaigns, and community-led sanitation initiatives, all designed to promote sustainable development in Oti’s most underserved districts.

With this partnership, World Vision and the ORCC are charting a path toward a future where every child and family in Oti can enjoy the dignity of safe water and a healthy environment
