Korle Klottey MP, Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has defended the legacy of her late father, former President Jerry John Rawlings, insisting she will not disown him despite persistent criticism of his role in Ghana’s revolution.
Speaking on JoyNews’ Talk No Dey Cook Rice podcast, she described personal attacks against her as “immature and cowardly,” stressing that much of the public perception of the Rawlings era was shaped by misinformation.
Dr Agyeman-Rawlings noted that her father often took responsibility for actions he had little direct involvement in, adding that he publicly apologised on several occasions for excesses committed during the revolution.
She also criticised individuals who, despite knowing the truth about key events, have remained silent, and condemned attacks targeted at her simply because of her parentage.
